Garden 2023!

It’s that time of year! Only 5 tulips came up (although none actively planted). Very few rogue tomatoes or sunflowers this season. Amended soil with 2 bags of compost and a bag of Pacific Northwest Blend Organic Fertilizer.

Planter 1

  • Sweet Million
  • Striped German – “flat, medium-to-large, variable shoulder ribbing, shaded yellow and red; marbled interior looks beautiful sliced. Complex, fruity flavor and smooth texture.”
  • Pineapple tomato – “beautiful streaked red and yellow exterior and interior kaleidoscope swirl of red, pink, orange, and yellow; excellent flavor, mildly sweet, low acidity, somewhat fruity, hint of citrus. Range from one pound to often more than two pounds in size.” One seed producer says, “You may be safer holding them in two hands, rather than one.”
  • Pink Bumblebee – “pink streaked with gold, excellent sweet flavor.”
  • Purple Bumblebee – “eye-catching combination of the dusky purple seen in heirloom tomatoes and metallic green striping, sweet flavor and meaty texture.”
  • Haricot Vert bush bean – “naturally thin green bean, even when mature. Generally considered the finest-tasting green bean variety available and thus preferred by fine dining restaurants. String-less, bush-type. Incredibly delicate flavor when picked at the 5″ stage.”
  • Provider bush bean – “Known as the most dependable early green bean, this easy-to-grow variety offers excellent flavor.
  • Baby Boo pumpkin – “bone-white mini pumpkins that are as enjoyable to look at as they are to eat.”

  • Carbon tomato – “prized for its rich, complex flavor; green/brown shoulders on dark red fruit. One of the best “Black” tomatoes which are known for great flavor.”
  • Carrots, Mokum – “Top-rated for flavor among our early varieties. Attractive, slender roots are great for early bunches. high sugar and brittle tenderness. Holds sweet taste even in warm weather.”
