COVID-19 quarantine!

Strange times as the entire world goes on lockdown to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). Schools are all closed and in-person work is only on an emergency basis. The streets are fairly empty, with far more people out walking their dogs than usual (it is one of the few acceptable activities for public spaces). The neighborhood gardens are looking very nice. So far our supplies are good (Shaynee always has the house prepared for emergencies such as a pandemic, earthquake, or kaiju attack).

The kids are obviously cooped up without a lot of organized activity. The schools are starting to host some video meeting sessions, but is pretty limited. Most of the teachers have posted some supplemental learning activities, but the jury is out about whether these can be required or even graded.

I’ll send some separate posts about what the kids have been doing to keep themselves occupied under forced quarantine!
