Blastoff!

Today was the inaugural launch of the Taser rocket from Alton’s birthday. It has been a pretty drawn out process. During the fall and winter months, the air was too cool and moist for the glue to set and for the last several months the weather hasn’t exactly been conducive to a rocket launch.

We met Riley and Tony for a play date at Soundview Playfield (behind Whitman Middle School near Swanson’s Nursery). The weather was perfect, with only a very light breeze. The launch went fine, other than the fact that that the acceleration ripped off the stabilizer fins. I recall having a hard time getting them to set properly during the build. Darn fume-free plastic cement. Next time I’ll buy the toxic stuff.
