Tired!

It’s been a while since I’ve had to stay up late to finish a product (I suppose that’s not entirely true, since I often stay up quite late working on my lectures). Perhaps it is more accurate to say that I don’t generate much in the way of deliverables. Even when I have an abstract or paper submission deadline, I tend to finish it during the light of day. This week I had two products due back-to-back, one was to create an appropriate visual representation of critical errors in the EP lab (death, perforation, heart block, etc). Although it is kind of boring to describe an annual rate of 0.0%. Ultimately, I took inspiration from the construction site outside: “Days since acute life-threatening device implantation-related complication: 744 days!” The other was the framework for reforming how our EP service is conducted. PRO: I quantified all of the responsibilities during our weeks on EP service that are concurrent with our general cardiology responsibilities. CON: I quantified all of the responsibilities during our weeks on EP service. Turns out it is quite a lot. Eye-opening, but depressing.

We took a hike through Discovery Park last weekend, the first time we have taken the kids. From the north parking lot, the kids ran through the Wolf Tree Nature Trail a couple of times. A couple of bog marshes later, we found ourselves at the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center, where Dave and Christy had their wedding.

Then it was a 1/2-mile hike down to the North Beach, where Alton and Nikola found some lovely rocks to throw into the sound.
