Bam Bam Bam!

Alton seems to really like music. Or at least percussion. The other day I was watching him while Nikola and Shaynee were out, so I decided to put on Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Alton went nuts. Each cannon discharge was followed by his excited “BAM! BAM! BAM!” and when the piece had ended, he wanted to hear more. We listened to it (well, the highlights at the last 2:30 minutes) six times.
So I asked on Facebook what other classical pieces anyone could recommend. These included:

  • P. D. Q. Bach’s 1712 Overture (thanks, Jeff!)
  • Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite (thanks, Dave!)
  • Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain (thanks, Cindy!)
  • Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (thanks, Dave again!)

and others.
Fortunately I have all of these albums (except the PDQ Bach) and Alton enjoyed them as well. Apparently, he considers any drums as exciting as cannons in an auditorium. Now, he will often ask to hear “Bam Bam Bam music” when I come home from work.
