Date night at the PNPC means that everyone wins. Nikola and Alton get to play in the Dragon Room classroom with some fun babysitters and a bunch of other kids from the co-op. Mom and dad get to eat out in a real sit-down restaurant (The Stumbling Goat Bistro).

When dinner was over, the Phinney ArtUp! event was still going on. We picked up the kids and walked along he boulevard to look at some art; Nikola was on the look out for free snacks (the desire to rummage for food is strong). We stopped in Santoro’s Bookstore. Alton ate his weight in grapes. Nikola picked up a book and started reading on a bench. Alton selected a compendium of essays on J.R.R. Tolkien’s works for perusal. That’s a lot of words for a little guy who uses “ree” to describe about 30 nouns.
