Fromember!

For the longest time, Nikola has pronounced the word “remember” as “FROMember”. My current theory about the etiology of that pronunciation is that “from” refers to something that has happened in the past, just as we do when we remember something. Maybe I’m reading too much into this. Anyway, this is the “fromember wheel” that …

Heavy!

Watching siblings is kind of fun. Alton is starting to really develop some language (appropriate). For the most part, we can understand what he is saying. There are (many) times where we have no clue what he’s trying to tell us. For example, he often will exclaim, “Heavy!” when he is lifting something that is, …

Bam Bam Bam!

Alton seems to really like music. Or at least percussion. The other day I was watching him while Nikola and Shaynee were out, so I decided to put on Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Alton went nuts. Each cannon discharge was followed by his excited “BAM! BAM! BAM!” and when the piece had ended, he wanted to …

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone! We had a little get together with our PEPS group family (5 familes of 4), which felt a tad crowded. But it made for great food, good drink, good company. The kids had a blast. Nikola loves having people over for dress-up play. Alton wasn’t sure what to make of everything. …

Updates!

Hopefully, I’ve finally fixed the setting for updating my “subscribers” (i.e., YOU!) when we make any changes. Future news as it develops!

More jellyfish! (real ones)

Nikola and Alton took gramps and grandma to the Seattle Aquarium today. It has been a couple of years since we have been, and the new addition to the aquarium looks terrific.

Christmas!

Gramps and Grandma!

Gramps and Grandma came to visit for the holidays. They arrived on Sunday afternoon and watched the kids for dinner. Shaynee had arranged a “surprise” birthday party for Terry at Tilth Restaurant in Wallingford. Yum. T had the week off, meaning that Gramps and Grandma had the kids again on Tuesday night while mommy and …

Jellyfish!

The kids were playing “jellyfish” today, with streamers on thier arms, courtesy of some costuming from the preschool. Nikola was, of course, wearing most of the streamers. Alton was left without much of his own (actually, none). Nikola declared, “Alton is a smaller jellyfish because he only has 2 testicles!” Mom and dad had to …

Luminaria!

The Greenlake luminaria walk was last night. Good turn out, but very cold. We met with Alton’s preschool class for a potluck first, then wandered down to the lake bundled for the cold. Plenty of carolers and musicians spread out along the path, hot chocolate, and tasty treats. Alton loved the music, not surprisingly. Nikola …
