It has been a long week of birthdays (rivaled only by the huge birthday surge called April). Shaynee’s was the 14th, and it was a very quiet 40th.

Alton’s Day Out!
Taking advantage of daddy’s last day of vacation (staycation), and with Nikola at school, Alton had a nice day out and about in Seattle with mommy and daddy. After dropping his sister off at school (which was apparently a bit tearful), we drove to Benaroya Hall for the Seattle Symphony’s Tiny Tots concert series. Afterwards, …

Alton was looking through a picture dictionary and was gleefully identifying every single vehicle appropriately. The next page was farm animals.“What’s this?” she asked, pointing to a cow.“Amimal.”“Okay, what’s this?” now pointing to a horse.“Amimal.”“And this?” …

Dancing with myself!
For all his two-year-old craziness and emotional lability, Alton still manages to be very endearing. S was putting some things away upstairs and she noticed him hopping up and down happily. “Are you dancing?” she asked. “I’m dancing!” he exclaimed. “Are you having a party?” “Yes! A dancing party!” “Who is at the party?” “Just …
